Structure

 Communications Workers of America Local 1104 is a 8,000-member union that spans the State of New York and is committed to serving the members of each of its three divisions:

 

Education Division

Graduate teachers and researchers throughout the SUNY system

Operator Services Division

Verizon telephone operators, directory assistance personnel, and support staff

Telecommunications  Division

Includes technicians employed by Verizon, health care workers, library workers, promotional products distribution personnel, alarm system technicians, data technicians, and telephone technicians


 

Rights & Responsibilities

  Applying for membership is where your responsibility begins.   

·         After the union receives your application for membership, verifies your employment status and membership eligibility, your membership can be effectuated.

·         You will receive members-only updates about labor-management issues, contract negotiations and other bargaining issues, and internal organizing. 

·         You will also have the right to vote in all union elections and seek election to union office. 

·         Your right to become a union member and to vote in union elections is not dependent upon citizenship or immigration status.
